Exclusive world-wide innovation

Finally, real milk! - A new worldwide patent provides new opportunities for coffee drinking in offices and convenience stores. Introducing a new and brilliant solution that will change how people drink coffee in fast food restaurants, convenience stores, and offices around the world. Behind this idea is Crem International, a company based in Arvika, Sweden. Crem International produces Coffee Queen machines and has recently submitted an application for a worldwide patent pending for the revolutionary solution.

The result of an intense partnership between Coffee Queen and the Dairy concern Milko is a bag-in-box solution that contains regular, semi-skimmed milk that is pasteurized at ultra high temperatures and then packaged aseptically. Forget refrigeration and the constant need to buy small quantities of milk on a regular basis. This practical five-liter container can be stored at room temperature for up to six months. Once opened and properly installed in the CQube machine, the milk will still stay fresh for days. In other words, this concept provides an unprecedented opportunity for the discerning coffee lover.

- “It's incredibly exciting to launch a unique concept that we know the market craves. The demand for drinking real milk in coffee has increased in recent years. With this solution we can offer milk to go in coffee without the compromise. No powdered milk or expensive solutions that require extra refrigeration are needed,” says George Moller, CEO Crem International.

The new concept consists of three vital elements that are unique to Coffee Queen's Freshbrew machine CQube: a peristaltic pump, a new thermoblock heater, and an efficient new mixing-bowl system for whipping the milk into the perfect foam. The new high-tech features, such as the distribution valves and fittings that exclude air from entering a sealed system, were modeled after similar systems in the pharmaceutical industry. An automatic cleaning system ensures that the machine meets the highest hygiene requirements.

- We have long contemplated how we could figure out a simple and easy way to get real milk into our machines without the large and expensive cooling systems. This joint solution that uses our technology and Milko’s ultra pasteurized milk in our unique packaging almost makes the answer suddenly look ridiculously simple, "says Peter Larsson, R&D Manager Crem International.

The solution is certified hygienic (HACCP) and Coffee Queen’s CQube machine meets energy efficiency requirements. With the new milk solution, there will be less wasted milk and the process will consume less energy because the product can go from the dairy to the waiting coffee cup with no refrigeration necessary. - “This is perhaps one of the most exciting development projects that I have experienced working with at Milko. We look forward to exporting our Milko dairy products far beyond the country,” says Toomas Allmere, Market and Development Manager, Milko.

The concept will be launched during the 2010 GastroNord exhibition, held at the Stockholm International Fairs on the 20th -23rd of April.

- “We are very excited that the concept we developed with Milko has been certified with The Swedish Seal of Quality. If our new concept turns out as well as the indications we have received are suggesting, then this will lead not only to new jobs, but also more cows in the Swedish countryside, which of course feels extra gratifying” concludes Georg Möller!
